after a late night ghost tour, we spent almost thirty minutes trying to figure out where to eat when we finally stumbled on this little place. not gonna lie, it's not fancy but the owner was so kind and friendly, clearly taking pity on a pair of very tired, very cold australians and gave us extra chips with our fish. would definitely recommend for a casual, easy night meal.

The servers were very inattentive, heard yelling coming from the back of the restaurant which was very uncomfortable. The food was subpar, wouldn't go back.

Pretty much in line with all the other chippers around town, with a few bonus perks. We stopped in late at night on my husband's last night in Edinburgh for some final deep-fried Mars bars, which are a favorite of his. Unlike many other similar places, this area has seating and a larger waiting area than most similar locations. Good spot for cheap late-night food.

Obviously, this is a regular takeaway or eat-in joint in Edinburgh. A lot of the places have pretty much the same menu and near the same prices. The prices at Uncle's are pretty good and I enjoyed the service. We ate here 2 separate nights in Edinburgh and it was consistent and yummy both nights. Fed 4 people for under 25 one night and under 20 another night which can't be beat. I also didn't get sick either time (winning). We didn't inside, we got takeaway both nights, but it was really good and you get a lot for what you pay for. Good, cheap, fulling, and greasily delicious food. I'll come by here again without issue.
